Admin panel for a climate equipment distributor

A tool that, despite being extremely simple, saves the business owner an enormous amount of time - time that used to go into filling in the database by hand and reconciling product specifications across dozens of incompatible formats.

About the project

Establishing order in a catalogue assembled by dozens of suppliers.

Different suppliers describe the same product in their own way: their own set of specifications, their own units, their own parameter names. We built a unified data model for the client that reconciles all of this variety and brings the catalogue to a single shape.

The application works in both a desktop and a mobile version - the DB is always at hand, wherever the owner happens to be.

Capabilities

Unified data model

One structure that fits any product specifications from any supplier.

Automatic price list import

Uploads suppliers' Excel spreadsheets and matches their values to the database fields on its own.

Flexible filters

Fast search and selection of products by any parameter - from system type to price.

Data quality control

On upload, the system flags questionable entries and asks a human administrator for review.

Parsing that understands other people's spreadsheets.

Suppliers provide information in giant Excel spreadsheets, and there is no common agreement between them on how to put those together. Using unsupervised machine-learning algorithms, the system can parse practically any document with a list of products and correctly map its values to the fields of the unified database.

And the few errors and misunderstandings that may still occur are always flagged by the system and handed to the administrator for review.

Hours of the dullest data entry versus a few minutes of skimming a list and correcting a couple of values.
